This Stand Up Paddle Board Workout Kicks Fresh Traveler's Butt.
I’m a long way from doing a Warrior 3 on a paddleboard. I’m wobbly and using all my core strength to balance myself on the water. Ooh boy, my core could use some work. It’s my first time paddleboarding and it’s frightening to feel like you’re about to plunge into deep Lake Ida if you fall out of your lunge. My inner thigh muscles are screaming but I keep it together.
I’m drifting into the reeds but our instructor Megan Hurdman from Sutrafit Adventures won’t let me give up. She really pushes us. We’re holding a paddle over our heads to work out our triceps.
You really feel the moment. Actually, you’re forced to or else you’ll fall off your board. I’m too focused on balancing myself on the paddleboard to think about the past or the future. I’m staying in the present, focusing on my breath and enjoying the beauty of the moment.
