Sea Lions and Lighthouses

Following the road westward one will eventually hit the Pacific where there is as much to see as in the mountains. The coast in Oregon features beautiful sandy beaches, luscious rain forests and majestic cliffs. Taking Pacific Coast Highway north from Florence a must stop are the Sea Lion Caverns. One of the largest sea caves in the world is he to a large number of sea lions. A quick elevator ride transports visitors from the top of the cliff to a viewing area in the cave, echoing with the sound of barking sea lions and crashing waves. Next up is Hecta Head light house after a short drive through a tunnel and over a historic bridge. The hike from the parking lot to the light house is about a mile and well worth it.

And there is so much more. Around every bend awaits another breathtaking vista.
