Second to last stop — The Pythian Castle. Originally the home of The Fraternal Order of Knights Pythias, an organization of men dedicated to universal peace. I like that! It is now home to Earth & Vine wine tasting room and art gallery. I like that too!
As you can see in the picture, it was nightfall by the time we crossed the moat so our picture doesn’t do it justice.
The sun is low, but we still caught the mountainous view from the second story.
And where better to find an 1891 Rand McNally atlas than at a castle! Owners Rosemary and Larry Abell surprised us with this treasure.
Did I mention Baker City’s enthusiasm!??? Of course! Even the dog showed up for our send off. And we are still snacking on the goodies Beverly gifted us from our last stop, Bella Main Street Market. Notice the dog’s “Most Beautiful” outfit!
