From the air to the water. It’s time to explore Lake Pend Oreille up close. We boarded the Shawnodese for a 9 mile loop around Lake Pend Oreille. Our first mate, Linda, shared some history on how the lake was formed and how the area was originally settled. The captain made a special trip to an easily seen eagle’s nest where young eagles are nested. A bit further down we spotted one of the parents.
The two young eagles are in this first picture. Look closely at this second picture there is a bald eagle in there!
Osprey nest with two ospreys.
Something cool about a train going by; it never gets old at any age!
