When we found out we won this trip sponsored by Rand McNally and USA Today, we kept hearing, “this is a trip of a life time.” Dan and I have been on a lot of trips, having already done some pretty amazing things around the world so I wasn’t convinced BUT the people were right! This has been a trip of a lifetime. We have experienced things we have NEVER done.
I hope you can feel the gratitude in our blogs, tweets and facebook interactions. The gratitude we feel for each town’s generosity will ALWAYS be remembered.
And speaking of new experiences………a local resident in Marco Island has a passion for flying and was generous enough to invite us for a ride in his helicopter. As you can see from the pictures below, the views were breathtaking.
Our pilot was courageous enough to even let Dan have the controls for a few minutes (seemed like forever to me!). Dan was “flying high”, me on the other hand, I was barely hanging in there……didn’t know that I get motion sickness in a helicopter. It was still amazing though!
We’ve got a brief video here and a few pictures of the Ten Thousand Islands. Remember you can click on a picture to see it full-size.
Ten Thousand Islands (I’m sure they all have specific names, but I don’t remember them…sorry!)
And as promised, here you can see some manatee. What a sight!
A HUGE thanks to our pilot, you created an experience of a lifetime for us!
