No vacation is complete without an afternoon of eating, shopping and being pampered! The Village of Merrick Park is as much about fashion and style as it is about creating a tropical, quaint village atmosphere. The center features many high-end stores; Jimmy Choo, Gucci, Tiffany’s, Burberry, Pottery Barn, Coach and many more.
While we were there we met a few shop owners, had a tasty beverage and hookah from SAWA among our new friends, were gifted a couple pieces from Tiffany’s and experienced a much needed full-body massage from Elemis Day Spa. That’s why I’m wrapped in a floating water bed below! lol
On our last evening we were hosted by Bacardi USA; Coral Gables is home for their headquarters with over 300 employees. We learned a bit of history on how their bat emblem came to be their identifying label and about their famous rum. Did you know Bacardi is the orginator of some of our favorite mixed drinks? If you are over 21, I’m sure you’ve enjoyed at least one of these legendary cocktails; the Bacardi Cuba Libre (Rum & Coke); Bacardi Daiquiri; Bacardi Cocktail and the Bacardi Mojito.
(just another evening out with the Major!)
This was a superb end to our visit in Coral Gables. To be able to look out over the city we had excitedly explored the last couple days was breathtaking. (The view from Bacardi.)
We found Coral Gables to be “Most Beautiful” in its rich history, architecture, magical trees, tropical environment and the people.
Thank you for hosting us and showing us The City Beautiful!
