Good morning greetings! Mr. Peacock says it’s going to be a “Most Beautiful” day in Coral Gables.
Saw that cutie on our way to the botanic gardens! What a treat! We have never seen a peacock in the wild.
Now, off to Fairchild!
Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden is considerably more than just another botanical garden. It is recognized as one of the world’s leading tropical gardens, established in 1936 and sitting on 83 beautiful acres of rare palms, cycads, flowering trees, tropical fruit trees, vines and succulents. Fairchild manages one of the largest plant conservation programs in the US ensuring the conservation of more than 85 species of locally threatened plants.
Around 1500 volunteers put in their time maintaining and supporting the scientists, researchers, grounds and staff each year. Our tour guide, Bob, has been a long-time volunteer and is an abundant resource of knowledge. He kept us well-informed and entertained.
The peacefulness and beauty of the gardens instantly slows the mind creating a sense of peace (that was AFTER we got the bug spray!)
Grab your coffee, sit back, turn on your volume and let the peace of nature take you away for a short, restorative minute!
Did you notice the wishing tree? Yoko Ono sponsored the Wishing Grove at Fairchild. Read more about it here.
It’s a”Most Beautiful” vision and mission.
We wish everyone everywhere peace within.
