After driving 14 hours from NC to FL we were over-joyed to see our ‘Welcome Best of the Road’ banner outside of the Country Inn and Suites. What a warm welcome after driving so far and long through sunny (and by sunny I mean rainy, lol) Florida.
After breakfast we were off to receive our official welcome to The City Beautiful, Coral Gables. Dan and I were advised by the Best of the Road team that the town was enthused and ready for our arrival, but we had NO idea how enthused. Our experience here has been over the top incredible and it began with this astounding welcome.
There were over 30 people at our welcoming, city officials and local business owners from the community. We received several gifts (you’ll see pic below). Major Jim Cason along with members of the City Commission proclaimed June 25, 2011 “Best of the Road, 2011 Rally” Day. The Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce extended their own proclamation in the Success to Best of the Road – Rand McNally and Team McNavigators.

Next stop–Seasons 52 for lunch! There is always something new to discover on the menu at Seasons 52, where every week of the year the chef features the freshest in-season ingredients. We enjoyed many items off the menu–the flatbread, organic mixed greens, salmon, chicken and broccoli, pork loin with potatoes, and of course a mini indulgence (I had the Belgian Chocolate Rocky Road and Dan had the Blueberry Cheescake..yum!).
You’ve already seen the picture of us at lunch.
Off for the trolley tour!
