The National Park Service will offer free admission to all of its 391 parks over three weekends this summer. Of those, 147 parks usually charge admission ranging from $3 to $25. Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar hopes the promotion will boost tourism in and around the parks. The weekends of June 20-21, July 18-19, and August 15-16 will feature the free admission. Many service providers including tour operators, hotels, restaurants, gift shops, and other vendors will offer additional discounts and special promotions on those dates.
