Hoping to get 1 million Americans and Canadians to volunteer in their communities, Disney is offering free day passes in exchange for the good deeds. Disney has partnered with HandsOn Network, a source of volunteer opportunities, to help link people to charities in their cities in the “Give a Day, Get a Disney Day” program. People, kids included, interested in participating must register online and do the volunteer work sometime next year, before Dec. 15, 2010. Those who want to pitch in, but won’t be able to redeem their free day at the park can donate the pass back to charity. Passes are good at all Disney theme parks.—Hilary Solan
