Forest Hills, N.Y.—For those whose dogs or cats are frequent travel companions, JetBlue has a new pet perk program. Today starts the airline’s new JetPaws program, aimed at customers with two legs and four.

Owners will now earn frequent-flier miles, called TrueBlue points, when a pet comes along. Human travelers can earn two, four, or six TrueBlue points for each flight; Fido will always earn two.

In conjunction with JetPaws, JetBlue has published a Travel Petiquette booklet and released a line of carriers co-designed by gossip columnist Cindy Adams of the New York Post.

To schedule a flight with a pet, you must book by phone, (800) JET-BLUE. The airline charges $100 each way, a standard fee in the industry, to bring pets aboard. — Hilary Solan
